365 days - Bike Prom

Awe man... the annual Bike Prom is this weekend and I'm away on vacation. Bike riding activities are so much fun. You all should look into them in your city. Dress up fancy, wear retro clothes, hang out, ride, drink, laugh... all good.

365 days - A girl

Seen this girl on Deviant art... interesting face so figured why not? I will paint her.

I always wondered what kind of painter I might be and this iPad painting is giving me some kind of clue. I might have to give canvas a try soon.

Viola!

365 days - My old girl

I have this old kitty. Vet's figure she could be easily be over 20. I have had her for 12 yrs myself and what a joy. Such a kitten. Now she is weak, frail, deaf, annoying, shedding like crazy, arthritic and pretty much near the end. BUT... she is still with us and thats the main thing.

My kitty. She is lookin gthe other way because no matter how many times I called her... she couldnt hear me and was focused on something on the wall. So... I painted her as I seen her.

365 days - A new drawing toy!

So I came across this very cool app for my iPad called Paper by 53.com. I have been playing around with it and starting to get it. Not much of a learning curve really. The beauty of it is in its simplicity. Geared towards sketches, quick paintings, notes or whatever... it keeps you simple. I like that. I often times over work an image and kill it in so doing. I need this forced simplicity to bring me back to earth so to speak. Here is some stuff I have been goofing on...

365 days - Another boss type person

The boss I doodled up yesterday is bud's with this boss from the IT dept. I am too actually so making fun of these guys is okay for me to do. Within reason of course. This guy is 6'7" tall and an avid roadie cyclist so he has the small up top and big down below build most of these guys have.

365 days - The Wasp

Today, like yesterday... I went with the simple stuff... existing characters. I had never drawn this one so figured I would give it a go, throw my twist on things with some muscles and different hair than I have seen depicted and go with it.

Happy Friday everyone. Have a great weekend.

365 days - Electra

Didnt want to think much today (tough one at work) so just ripped off a quickie hero type doodle. Electra is the order of the day. I mean come on... who doesnt love a raven haired beauty dressed in barely anything that is colored red? Serious? Is it even a debate?

365 days - Bone Butterfly

I posted a request on G+ for suggestions and the first one in was a suggestion from Chris Aultman. His suggestion was to ask people for a favorite bug and their dogs favorite treat for example. Maybe Bone Butterfly would be the result. I decided to take that example to heart and make it a reality because I actually have a photo I took 2 yrs ago of this butterfly on my fingertip that I just adore. The idea of turning a bug that has an exoskeleton into a bug with an inny-skeleton was a fun challenge. Here is the photo I used/took and my Bone bug.

Thanks Chris for the idea. :)

365 days - That look

You know... all my adult life I have endured "the look". You know the one guys... every woman on this planet seems to know how to do it. Lately my 9 yr old daughter has been giving me "the look". I swear... mom's must teach their daughters this stuff. It cant be in their DNA. Can it?

365 days - That awkward moment

Yeah... it was that awkward moment in the theatre when I thought a train had rumbled past. I realized later that it was all the women in the theatre having an orgasm all at the same time. Crazy! ;)

365 days - a zombie page

Sunday's daily drawing effort was dedicated to pumping out another page for my zombie comic. So far I have about a dozen pages. Anyone interested in this thing once it's done?

365 days - Rawr!

So my lit'lun (9yrs) loved my Zebra lady I made last week and wanted me to draw something like that for her to colour. I often draw pictures for her to colour rather than buying colouring books. Her criteria was that it couldn't show her "you know... private parts". lol. So... I drew up this here lion lady and delineated those uh... "private parts" with some strategic arm and grass placement. Afterwards I guided her along on how to colour and she got to use my nice pricey colouring tools. She was right in her glory. Here is the flow below.

Have a great weekend everyone!

365 days - The Kite

What is it about a kite that is so wonderful? Is that connection to your childhood? Is it the dream of flying? For me its both and maybe more. Sometimes my buddy and I used to grab a six pack each and a $2 kite and go fly them in the field and just chill. Now, I go with my daughter and we enjoy as well. No beer though. lol.

This is just taking a regular old city street scene which can bore you to tears and then bringing it to life with a kite in the back ground. I immediately wonder who is flying it.

365 days- Franks tragedy

The saddest monster tale ever written. That key turning point where the not so gentle giant accidentily harms the little girl thus forcing his pursuit from the citizens.

My Frank

365 days - Me fail

I have been drawing others for some time now and capturing their likeness fairly well I think. So why is it no matter how many times I try to draw myself I cant get it right? So strange. I tried again today and sure enough... I really cant capture how I look. Anyways... main thing is a drew right?

365 days - Bob

A dear friend of mine is a new artist and an exceptional writer. He did up a short story about Bob the robot who has a fetish for the flame. Cute story and concept. I love when artists take a character of mine and reinvent them using their own styles and thats what I did here. This is not a rub your nose in it exercise to show how awesome I am or anything like that... it's just paying some homage to a buddy and his character so he can see what it might look like handled in the hands of someone else.

For you Patrick
