Old man Logan and his heart

Pretty poignant that scene at the end... as it was predicted in the previous wolverine... "I see you dying, blood everywhere and you are holding your heart in your hand". Sigh. As an aging dad of a young teen girl... this movie pulled at those old heart strings.

Todays DSC (daily sketch challenge) over at Outcast Studios is The Punisher. Been a few yrs since I haunted that place but figured today I will take part. So... here is my Punisher coming home after a hard days work at the "office".

Spidey!

So great to see Spidey show up in that Avengers, Civil War promo clip. Antman and Panther too! It's because of these 3 additions that I will see it. Anyone else starting to get a tad bored with the franchise? Well, just so long as they keep adding characters instead of relying on the originals... it will be good.

Anyways... lets have a song together shall we?

Shaking the dust off

Been drawing a bit lately again. Here is a 20 minute Wolverine sketch done with a Tachikawa School G pen.

First drawing in what feels like forever. Tablet sketch/painting. Capitalizing on todays generation... "LOL" is her name and "OMG" is the kind of thing she says.

Captain America

There is a gallery over at Deviant art that is chock full of amazing photo's of men mostly but some women as well. They are strong and super hero like in their builds which makes for some great reference material for the comic artists out there. I strongly recommend you bookmark it. I often go there and find inspiration for a new project and such was the case today. I seen a new photo posted and had to do a sketch of it but with Captain America instead of a football player. See the original photo below and my version below that.

Step by step traditional comic art with new tools

Today I picked up a small pad of tan paper, some grey tone markers as mine were all dried out and a white highlighter marker. I had not used this paper or highlighter pen before and its rare I work so small but in looking at my past sketchbooks... seems my best work is done tiny. Armed with this knowledge and these new tools... today I set out to experiment and here is the results.
