This girl has so much character in her face that I'm surprised I haven't drawn her before. Felt like it tonight though. I really do need to do more real life stuff.

I have this sketchbook by work from Lenord Robinson and there is this sketch he did of a gal very much like this one. It was good for me to use it as reference and combine with my friends actual face to get this down. I found that her features weren't as easy as some peoples to nail down so Lenord's sketch really helped me attack the technique. The guy is really brilliant. It's that fine line between outright copying someone and using them as a teacher to understand how to take that pen in your fingers and make it work properly.

365 days - Another bad romance?

So I took the plunge yesterday and bought a MacBook Pro. I have been using a very primitive pc for years and it was about 5 yrs past its due date. My iPad only does so much and I want to delve more into video work. First thing I noticed after the initial setup of this thing was how lost I was not being able to right click or go to the start menu in the bottom left corner. After 18 hrs of ownership... I'm still having trouble adapting.

Here's hoping my new romance blooms. Apparently Apple is the way to go for artsy types like me.

You would be so freaked out and excited and nervous that all the other stuff that has you down would be immediatly forgotten.

365 days - The Hard to get forcefield!

I love the chase. I really really do. But it's that "Hard to get" forcefield some women have that drives me nutty. You know the one... they bat the eyelashes, let you touch them just a bit, they rub against you, touch you in a certain way and when you think you have it completely figured out that she wants you to make "the move" BAM! you smack face first into the forcefield and you cant get any closer. It's that fine line between love and hate. I love the chase. I hate not getting any. lol.

365 days... Susanna Hoffs. Drool

In the 80's one girl changed me forever. She came out of nowhere singing a song with a bunch of other girls beside her called "Walk like an Egyptian". She was petite, sexy, dark and mysterious and her eyes... she made love to me with her eyes. I fell in love. From that day on whenever I see a doe eyed girl with dark hair and does that whole... "look out the sides of her eye's" trick... I melt. What a woman!

So... you see this girl. She is wearing oversized sweaters and frumpy outfits but you can tell under that she looks pretty decent maybe. She has that hipster hair and a plaid skirt with some dark nylons but some skin showing just under her skirt on her thighs. She carries a cute little girls purse or something like that but she is clearly in mid 20's... and then you notice her carrying a La Senza (sp?) shopping bag which is for lingerie or sexy undies... you immediatly think about that Sexy Librarian fantasy most men have. You know the one.... all business outside.... but underneath the outfit and behind those glasses.... oh my!! Yeah... funny how hot this actually is to us men. lol. As much as we like to look... it's those that hide it the most that make us want to look harder. Funny creatures we are.

Soccer practice for the out of shape (ie: me)

Soccer season is just around the corner and at 46, I'm feeling every little ache and pain. We did some kicking, some running, some drills... nothing major but today... it feels major!
